Paint Your Partner Trend Goes Hilariously Wrong: Boyfriend In Big Trouble
My girlfriend and I tried the Paint Your Partner trend on TikTok. In this recent trend, couples have a little date night and paint a portrait of each other. You can choose to have some wine before or do it totally sober (we went the wine route). In the end, it went as well as you’d expect.
After participating in what I thought was a fun date night activity, I ended up in the doghouse. The biggest problem? I actually tried very hard! I looked at the art I had created and thought “yup, that’s good. No changes needed.” I was wrong. I was very wrong.
Trying The Paint Your Partner Trend On TikTok
At the time, the Paint Your Partner trend sounded like a fun idea. Sure, I had seen a few examples of the Paint Your Partner trend on TikTok and the paintings these couples made were hilariously bad. I saw them and was pretty confident that there was no chance that I could be that bad! They were laugh out loud bad. Some of the portraits were way too small, some were stick figures, others made their significant other out to be Shrek. There was no way mine could be that bad! Why not give it a try? Oh, how wrong I was.
“You are not getting laid tonight,” was the response I received when my girlfriend saw the portrait I had painted of her. That’s how bad it was! What I failed to consider were the consquences of a bad drawing. While I might just see it as something I have no skills in, she perceives it a different way. This is how she thinks I see her! That’s the problem with these paintings. Your first thought is never, “oh they have no skills at this hobby” instead your mind goes to, “you think I look like that!?” It’s a dangerous game, my friends.
