Mammoth WVH rocked St. Andrews Hall on Thursday, February 28th. They weren't alone! They were joined by the one and only Nina Strauss. Check out WRIF's Steve Black's interview with Wolfgang Van Halen and Nita Strauss!

Steve is one of the best interviewers in the biz, and this is an excellent example of why!

WRIF's Steve Black Interviews Wolfgang Van Halen And Nita Strauss

Having these two sit down together for an interview is pure entertainment. If you're a rock and roll fan, which I imagine you are if you're here, then this is for you! They open up and share their thoughts on all sorts of things.

Check out a video on WRIF's Instagram page where Steve Black asks Wolfgang Van Halen and Nita Strauss what guitarists they love and respect. Then, he asks them about each other.

It's fantastic to see. I love it when two different musicians sit down for an interview together. It's more of a fun conversation than it is an interview. Watch it below! Then, keep scrolling for more need-to-know information.

Are you itching for more? Good news! Mammoth WVH isn't done with Detroit for 2024. They'll be coming back to town in November with Creed! So, if you didn't have a chance to see them in November with Metallica, missed out the other day with the St. Andrew's show, and didn't catch them on any other stops across the country, you still have your chance!

I highly recommend you take the time to see Mammoth WVH at some point. Wolfgang shreds just like his father, Eddie Van Halen. It's fantastic to see his skills and development over the years. I still remember seeing a young Wolfie! How times have changed?

Speaking of the Metallica show, check out our photo gallery below! Man, that was a fantastic weekend. Let's do it again sometime, eh?

Metallica, Pantera, and Mammoth WVH Rock Ford Field

WOW! Metallica once again proved they are the kings of rock! What a show at Ford Field. And to think we're lucky enough to be able to do it again Sunday night!

I met a lot of fans who were seeing the band for the very first time. In a way, I was jealous and really excited for them. I had one friend text me with these words "Where has this been my whole life?" That's saying a lot for someone who goes to a lot of concerts. There was another observation I made. While I was in the so-called "friends and family" suite, there was this 68-year-old man working there. At one point I watched as he took a break from cleaning up and grabbing empty plates and drink glasses. When the show ended, I asked him what he thought. His response caught me a little off guard. He said it was amazing. He described it as a piece of art and commented on how much respect the band members seem to have towards each other on stage. He was very impressed.

Oh, and a huge Thank You to everyone who came by the WRIF broadcast booth while I did my show. I don't think I've even shaken more hands or had more people come by to say Hello than last night.

If you get a chance, check out my interview with bassest, Robert Trujillo from earlier this week. He showed a lot of love for Detroit, with part two of our chat dropping today.

Now, enjoy pictures from the show, as WRIF photographer Will Spurrier captured some great shots of all the bands. Let's do it all over again on Sunday!

rob.jpgMeltdown

Always fun to see Blackened master distiller/mixer, Rob Dietrich.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
