‘Sopranos’ Alum Says OnlyFans Paid Off Mortgage In Five Minutes
Drea de Matteo attends the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards at Prudential Center on August 26, 2019 in Newark, New Jersey.
Sopranos alum Drea de Matteo has credited OnlyFans for being the reason she could pay off her mortgage in record time. For those who don’t know, de Matteo played Adriana La Cerva in the first five seasons of the classic HBO show, and she even won an Emmy for her performance in 2004. The show recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2024, and the fanbase is huge. That allowed Drea to save her family and their home just eight months after joining the subscription-based website. Her bio states: “THE SOPORNOS ;-)” and a monthly subscription to her page is $15.
She told the Daily Mail on Wednesday (February 28) that starting her OnlyFans account in August 2023 “saved us.” When she joined, she only had ten dollars in the bank and was on the verge of losing her home. “They put me into foreclosure, and my house had flooded,” de Matteo told the publication. She was quickly running out of options. She also took out a forbearance to help with mortgage payments, but she couldn’t afford what she owed.
On top of that, she said she was grieving the loss of one of her mothers while her other mother had dementia. Drea had no money for her mother’s caregiver and just started uploading photos on OF. “It was like holy s—,” she recalled and could repay the forbearance in just five minutes.
Tearing up, she stated that anyone who wants to “condemn” her choice: “go for it.” Drea says she hopes no one finds themselves in the position she was in and taking care of two little kids as well. She has a 16-year-old daughter named Alabama Gypsy Rose and a 12-year-old son named Waylon Albert “Blackjack,” whom she shares with her ex, Shooter Jennings. Beyond saving her family home, Drea made enough money to finance a streetwear brand, ULTRAFREE, inspired by her son. It all came about because de Matteo was publicly sharing her anti-vaxxer stance, which she says cost her acting work in Hollywood. After getting blasted for her stance on the COVID-19 vaccines and mandates, de Matteo says when she joined OnlyFans, she got even more heat, and “it went f—ing viral, and people went nuts.”
These Celebrities Earn The Most On OnlyFans
The experts at luxury sex toy brand LELO did some digging to find out which big-name stars are making money the most money on OnlyFans. The 18+ content subscription service based in London is used primarily by sex workers who produce adult content, but it also hosts the work of other content creators, such as physical fitness experts, comedians, professional athletes, and musicians. OnlyFans charges creators a fee of twenty percent of all fan payments made. The remaining eighty percent is payable to the creators, called “Creator Earnings.” According to their site, the fee includes the “costs of providing, maintaining and operating OnlyFans and storing your Content.”
Celebrities Who Recently Joined OnlyFans
Celebrities have come and gone on OnlyFans. Just last year, Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee launched his OnlyFans, charging fans $19.99 a month for access to “THAT D—!!!!” As we previously reported, the rocker shared a random nude photo to his social media channels prior to his Only Fans dropping. A few months prior to that, Baywatch alum Carmen Electra launched her OnlyFans. She said the subscription-based platform hosts some of her most exciting work to date. “It’s intense and very empowering. It’s so self-empowering,” Electra said. “And creatively, I’ve always had so many fun and creative ideas, and there’s been times when I’ve been able to follow through with those with different projects I’m working on.” She has two pages, creating a secondary account exclusively for VIPs. One of the most recent celebrities to have joined OnlyFans is Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards’ daughter, Sami Sheen. The 19-year-old shared over the summer, “I’m a sex worker.” She also revealed she plans to get a breast augmentation and will continue to censor her nipples on OnlyFans until that is complete.
Factors that LELO looked into include: How much each celebrity has earned, the monthly fees they charge, and the frequency of online searches.
