Woman Calls Into Work Because A 1300lb. Seal Was Blocking Her Car
Typical excuses employees usually give their bosses to miss work usually involve a flat tire or dead battery, so it must have been a shock for this woman’s boss to get a call about a seal preventing her from getting to work.
According to this report, a woman named Amber Harris from southern Tasmania had to call into work because a giant 1300 lb. elephant seal was blocking her truck from exiting her driveway.
The seal was well-known in the area and locals have named him Neil. Typically he can be seen on the beach or sunning himself on the road. It’s unusual to find him on someone’s property like this.
When Harris saw Neil was hanging out around her truck and knowing she wouldn’t be able to get him to move she called her boss and gave what could possibly be one of the greatest “I can’t come into work” excuses ever. Get the entire story below in the video.
An expert said that Harris may be able to get the 1300 lb. seal to move by luring him with food, but due to the time of year, he was likely looking for a place to hibernate and was not hungry. After spending some time exploring the deck and other parts of the yard at Harris’s home, Neil decided it was time to move on and take things back to the beach.
