Motor City Riffs Playlist 08-27-2023
From Bob Seger to Kid Rock, Alice Cooper to I Prevail, Detroit is the home of outstanding rock and roll, and has been for decades. Those are a couple of names that have made it big from the Motor City, and Motor City Riffs is aiming to find the next big names in Detroit Rock.
This week, as we do every Sunday, Nate and I featured bands from all across the state, covering multiple genres of rock and roll. There’s some hard rock, heavy metal, and some softer rock thrown in, as well. Every band is different and has their own unique sound. We featured some amazing bands on the show this week, and are getting great submissions for future weeks, too.
If you didn’t already know, Motor City Riffs airs on 101 WRIF every Sunday night from 9pm-10pm and if you’d like your band to be featured on a future edition, it’s totally possible! Please send your MP3 and info about your band to MCR@wrif.com and you’ll be submitted to have your stuff played. Please make sure that you are a band from Michigan, or with ties to the area, and that your stuff is clean. If it’s explicit, it won’t get played.
Here are the tracks and local bands we featured on this week’s edition of MCR!

What an awesome night of rock and roll from the Motor City! Don’t forget, if you and your Michigan-based band would like to be featured on a future episode of Motor City Riffs, we want to hear it. Send your stuff to MCR@wrif.com! If it’s explicit, please make sure to give us a heads up or send an edited version that’s radio friendly, otherwise it won’t be eligible to be played. So, don’t do that!
Cort and Nate will be back next Sunday on 101 WRIF putting the spotlight on more rocking local music from 9pm-10pm! To check out previous playlists of Motor City Riffs, click here!
