Michigan Italian Restaurant is Closing Its Doors
It’s always a sad thing when a local restaurant announces that it will be closing its doors. Of course, it’s even more sad when it’s a locally-owned restaurant. Now, a Michigan Italian restaurant has announced it will close for good in August.
By the way, I am happy to say that I see a lot more local restaurants opening instead of closing lately. During the pandemic, obviously, there were lots of local spots that were forced to close their doors. But, now I’m seeing new restaurants popping up on a regular basis, and that’s a comforting thing.
So, which Michigan Italian restaurant is going to close? It’s Tannin located on Michigan Avenue in Lansing. They took to their Facebook page to announce that they will be closing on Aug. 3. In the post, they stated, “Unfortunately we will be closing at the start of August. Our last day will be Thursday, August 3. Hopefully you can come dine with for a last time before then.”
Tannin, according to their Facebook page, served up “hand-made pasta and Italian food with a curated wine list full of great wines.” They were located at 1620 East Michigan Avenue. On their official website, they state, “From our hand-rolled gnocchi to our house-made bar mixers and the ever-changing wine list, there is always something new and exciting to discover.” Thank you for all the great food and memories, Tannin. It would be great to see them pop up again. Check out their official website here.
