As Kim Kardashian is getting older, she admits that she might not feel comfortable showing her body in the way she has been up until now. Kardashian, 42, was featured in TIME magazine for her shapewear brand, Skims, as one of TIME100 Most Influential Companies 2023. It was also featured last year. The brand has been around now for four years.

In her first-ever cover story for the publication, the Kardashians star shared her realizations on the "timestamp" she's got on her age. Kim tells the outlet, "I understand that maybe in my 50s, I’m not going to be wanting to pose in my underwear." She notes that she wants to cut back on her appearances and star in fewer campaigns each year. However, right on the Kardashian brand, she adds, "We’ll do anything we can to look as young as we can. We're not going to go out not trying."

For now, the SKKN founder, who was named one of the publication's most influential people in 2015, is fully invested in SKIMS. As reported by TIME, the mogul is not only the creative director of SKIMS but is oftentimes a fit model who spends hours trying on the pieces. She estimates that she’s worn around 7,000 already. "I always like to see it on myself,” she said. “I can absolutely tell when I miss a few drops.” SKIMS, which has already expanded beyond shapewear into loungewear, will also be adding a menswear line coming this fall.

SKIMS Vulnerability

Kardashian reflected on SKIMS 2019 launch elsewhere in the feature. “At the beginning, when I didn’t really understand where my career was going because I was just kind of winging it, I would do licensing deals with a lot of different companies that would contradict themselves -- like a cupcake brand with a weight-loss pill at the same time." Kim adds that SKIMS was very personal to her. "It started off of my body and my shapes, and it’s very vulnerable," she shared.
