Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth are filing for divorce. Witherspoon made the announcement Friday (March 24) by posting a joint statement to her Instagram.
“We have some personal news to share,” the message began. “It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”

A source told PEOPLE, “They really are the best of friends, and this is such an amicable decision. They are so committed to co-parenting together. They are invested in their whole family and making this as smooth as possible for everyone.”
The pair got married in 2011 and share one child together, 10-year-old Tennessee. Toth was Reese’s second husband. She was married to Ryan Phillippe from 1999 to 2008. She shares two children with Phillippe, 23-year-old Ava, and 19-year-old Deacon.
