Jim Harbaugh Makes His Decision
Jim Harbaugh isn’t going anywhere. At least these rumors didn’t drag on for weeks and weeks like last year, right? Harbaugh says that he has told the school president that he will be back at Michigan next year and not go to the NFL.
“I just got off the phone with coach Harbaugh and Jim shared with me the great news that he is going to remain as the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines,” University of Michigan President Santa Ono shared on social media Monday. “That is fantastic news that I have communicated with our athletic director Warde Manuel.”
Michigan football also announced the news on Twitter. “My heart is at the University of Michigan,” Harbaugh’s statement read in the post. “I once heard a wise man say, `Don’t try to out-happy, happy.’”
Harbaugh and the school have not come to an agreement on a contract extension yet, but that’s in the works. As for whether Harbaugh came to this decision on his own or if he knew that the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers weren’t going to hire him as head coach is anybody’s guess. He claims it was his decision, but it could have been the other way around, as both teams have a slew of interviews lined up for this week.
