Steve Black Celebrates 1,000 interviews
The WRIF’s own Steve Black is celebrating the 1,700th interview he’s conducted for his popular syndicated show, “The Chop Shop,” and the 1,000th episode of the show!
The show airs on Sunday mornings from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on WRIF!
“My passion for sharing music has not waivered at all over my many years doing the Chop Shop or radio in general,” Steve Black says. “I love sharing some new song or band that I’ve discovered, or maybe playing a song we all know but pointing out something about it that may get someone to hear it in a fresh, less familiar way.”

Anne Erickson started her radio career shortly after graduating from Michigan State University and has worked on-air in Detroit, Flint, Toledo, Lansing and beyond. As someone who absolutely loves rock, metal and alt music, she instantly fell in love with radio and hasn’t looked back. When she’s not working, Anne makes her own music with her band, Upon Wings, and she also loves cheering on her favorite Detroit and Michigan sports teams, especially Lions and MSU football. Anne is also an award-winning journalist, and her byline has run in a variety of national publications. You can also hear her weekends on WRIF.
