Detroit Zoo Reopens Popular Exhibit for the First Time in 2 Years
One of the Detroit Zoo’s most popular exhibits was forced to close in September 2019 for building repairs, and now, it’s finally open once again.
The Polk Penguin Conservation Center reopened earlier this week. It’s the the largest penguin facility in the world.
The penguin center houses more than 75 king, rockhopper, macaroni, gentoo and chinstrap penguins. It’s quite an experience for penguin lovers. The exhibit also features a 326,000-gallon, 25-foot-deep aquatic area.
The exhibit is included with general admission, but timed-entry passes are required. For more information, call 248-541-5717 or head to detroitzoo.org.
