How much is a vintage Super Mario Bros. video game worth? Apparently, a lot.
An unopened copy of the nostalgic game just sold for $114,000 in a new auction, according to Dallas’ Heritage Auctions. That’s a lot of cash!
The bidder for the game opted to remain anonymous. The buyer scored an early edition of the famed Super Mario Bros. game, which debuted in 1985 for Nintendo’s NES console, during an auction that took place Friday (July 10) via Heritage Auctions.
The $114,000 price tag beat Heritage Auctions’ previous record for a video game, which $100,150.
