Ghost Addresses Midland, Texas Show Controversy
After being quiet as local Christians voiced their disapproval, Ghost’s show in Midland, Texas last night (November 19) went off without a hitch and would later address the buzz surrounding their gig.
Ghost posted the following series of photos below to their Instagram along with the caption, “Despite all the controversy Satan came to the show and as we know Ghost has all the best tunes.”
As previously reported, area Christians led by local pastor Larry Long have gathered in prayer near the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center due to the Satanic themes of Ghost’s music.
“We’re not here to protest. We’re just simply here to pray, to pray His protection, to plead the blood of Christ over our community,” said Long to KOSA. “This kind of band will bring spiritual influences into this area. We’re concerned about it, because we believe the devil is real, just as we believe God is real.”
Honestly, it’s good that both Ghost’s show and the prayer gathering were able to peacefully coexist last night. It’s a reminder as we head into Thanksgiving that polar opposite beliefs and ideas can share a space without incident.
