Are these the 5 greatest HGTV personalities of all-time? Some big names got their start on the network, but who are the best and most likable?

It feels like the older I get, the more I love HGTV. It’s a great place to get ideas and inspirations for home projects. There are some brilliant minds featured on the popular network. Countless creatives have come and gone from the network. If you had to pick 5 of your favorite HGTV personalities of all-time, who would you pick?

Who Are The Best HGTV Personalities Of All-Time?

Chances are you have a favorite person or couple on HGTV. No matter what you’re into, there’s probably a show for you. Looking for a show about renovating without doing any demolition? You’ll love No Demo Reno! Looking for some competition? You’ve got plenty of outstanding options like Rock The Block, Battle On The Beach, and Love It Or List It (to name a few). Some personalities are rising stars who are just starting to make a name for themselves. Others had massive success on HGTV and are now able to go out and start their own adventures and projects.

Lately, I’ve been a huge fan of Rock The Block on HGTV. The show brings together some of the best minds on the network and has them compete to see who can add the most value to their provided home at the end of the season. It’s so cool to see them compete week-to-week on each room. You get a great sense not only of their professional taste and style, but also a look at them as real people! It’s an awesome show for entertainment and for discovering your favorite HGTV personalities.

Picking 5 of my favorite HGTV personalities was no easy task. There are so many to choose from! Then, there are many more who are starting to show promise and I want to see more of! So, I decided it was fair game to lump couples and show partners together. Since the list is condensed to only 5 people, I have to award some Honorable Mentions. I’ve loved the work brother and sister team Leanne and Steve Ford (Restored By The Fords) have done on the network. They always deliver an incredibly unique product that’s different than any one else. I think this is a hot take, at least given feedback I’ve heard in my own house, but I’m a huge fan of Bryan and Sarah Baeumler (Renovation Island). I think she’s awesome and relatable and he has a sense of humor that I can appreciate. It sometimes comes off as grumpy or apathetic, but I respect that. Finally, I have to give props to Anthony Elle and Michel Smith Boyd (Luxe For Less). They were fantastic on their season of Rock The Block, both in their work and as entertainers. I need more of them in my life.

So, there are the Honorable Mentions. Now, let’s get to the list! If we left off your favorite HGTV personality, let us know! Then, make sure to comeback soon when I’m going to make a list of my least favorite HGTV personalities, that’s going to be fun. I’ve got a lot to say on that!

  • Chip and Joanna Gaines (Fixer Upper)

Look, you can’t talk about HGTV personalities without talking about Chip and Joanna Gaines. They are two of the best people and designers. For a while, during their prime, it felt like they could actually be considered “America’s ‘It’ Couple.” Their dynamic is always entertaining and cute. You can tell they really love and respect one another. In my relationship, I’ve discovered I’m actually the Joanna. M’Lady loves doing the demo and dirty work and I enjoy doing some designing. They deserved all of their success and have since moved off the network to do their own thing. You’ve probably seen the Magnolia Collection at Target.

  • Ty Pennington (Battle On The Beach)

Ty Pennington made a name for himself on TLC’s Trading Spaces but he’s back and better than ever on HGTV. He’s one of the hosts and collaborators on Battle On The Beach and I always enjoy his work. Other hosts on the show can be a bit mean and disrespectful to the people they are working with (we’ll address them by name in the upcoming list of my least favorite HGTV personalities) but Ty always seems supportive and kind. Plus, he seems like one of those dudes you could kick it with. It would be hard for you to make this list if I don’t think we’d click socially.

  • Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas (Bargain Block)

Shoutout to Detroit! Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas are putting Detroit on the map with their HGTV show Bargain Block. It’s a really interesting set-up where the couple aim to restore the beloved city of Detroit. They do it with small budgets and put out incredible work. Evan is a master carpenter and Keith is a straight-up artist who incorporates one-of-a-kind designs into the homes making them feel like a luxury resort, while not spending a ton of money. It’s a great show, they seem like good guys, and they’re helping our city! What’s not to love?

  • Drew and Jonathan Scott (Property Brothers)

Honestly, at first the Drew and Jonathan Scott rubbed me the wrong way. I was not a fan. However, I gave them a chance and I’m glad I did! I love these guys! They’re goofy and don’t take themselves too seriously. I think it’s great that they don’t come off like jerks. They always treat their clients with respect and have fun while doing it. Additionally, they do great work! Consider me a fan. Plus…Jonathan is dating Zooey Deschanel! That’s major points!

  • Dave and Jenny Marrs (Fixer To Fabulous)

Lately, Dave and Jenny Marrs have really grown on me! Again, I think they seem like good relatable people, and that means so much. He’s such a dude, and she seems like the life of the party who understands what a family needs in a home. Additionally, they do amazing work! They are so creative and work great together. I think it was the hidden room they made in their house during their appearance on Rock The Block that really got my attention. They’ve since gotten their own show with Fixer To Fabulous and their special on their trip to Italy is a must-watch! They always bring their A-Game and I will watch the show if they’re involved.
