The American Music Awards (AMAs) have not been a showcase for rock for a number of years now. However, the 2022 nominees for the rock categories are not absolutely dreadful.

There are three rock categories at the AMAs: Favorite Rock Artist, Favorite Rock Song and Favorite Rock Album. While some might take issue with Imagine Dragons and Machine Gun Kelly receiving nominations, other rock acts being recognized in these categories include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Ghost and Måneskin. In fact, Måneskin nabbed some other noms, including
