If you’ve ever listened to the radio in Detroit, you know the name and voice of Ken “The Casual One” Calvert. He had a larger than life personality and loved broadcasting in Detroit Rock City. He was kind, funny and appreciated the listeners above all.
Ken had an illustrious broadcasting career in Detroit and spent 1981-1991 rocking the WRIF airwaves. From the concerts in Hart Plaza to celebrity softball games and everything in between, he represented what it meant to say you were from the Motor City.
And let’s not forget the years he spent as the in-house announcer for our Detroit Pistons. He was the one who made saying JOEEEEEEEEE DUUUUUUUMAAAAAARS famous.
Please join us as we look back and celebrate the life of KC “The Casual One.”
