Similar to TV shows, we watched a lot of movies in 2020.

Obviously, due to the coronavirus, more people watched films via streaming services than going to their local movie theater, and that’s a trend that’s likely to continue. Warner Bros. Pictures announced recently they will be releasing their entire slate of 2021 films to the streaming service HBO Max on the same day they’re scheduled for release in theaters.

While the pandemic influenced how we watched movies in 2020, it also had an influence on which movies we searched on Google according to the search engine’s “Year in Search 2020” report. (Looking at you, Contagion!) Of course, one way 2020 was still normal was how awards season influenced which films we searched.

So, what were the most searched movies of 2020 in the United States? Find out by scrolling through the gallery below!
