It’s another two for one today on Talkin’ Rock. I’ve had the chance to meet and hang around with these guys a bit over the past 30 years, and I can’t say enough about what good people they are.
Up first, The Metal God! Rob Halford has a new Christmas/Holiday album out called Celestial. It might be the perfect stocking stuffer for the metal-head on your list. Of course, we discuss his new album & the song “Breaking the Law” being used in a State Farm commercial. A big topic of conversation was the Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame. Who does he think should go in with Priest? Should singers like Mariah Carey be inducted in the Hall. We talked about farewell tours and he gave me an update on guiatrist, Glenn Tipton.
Stone Temple Pilots is going to be dropping a new, more acoustic album in early 2020. Jeff Gutt and Robert DeLeo chime in to discuss the album, “Perdida” & the upcoming tour, “An Evening With Stone Temple Pilots”. What songs is Jeff looking forward to doing unplugged from the Scott Weiland era? He answers that and they talk about playing songs from a different point of view.
Al Beck is back with Rock News. We talk about AC/DC and how they’ve sold a couple albums. Soundgarden is being sued, Ghost to record a new song and release it in 2020. Plus, Randy Rhoads memorabilia stolen and Led Zeppelin Match Box Cars.
