Guitar Legend Steve Vai Is On Talkin’ Rock Download

24:20 Download January 23rd

It’s been over twenty years since I last spoke with Steve Vai. What a legend!

His “new” album drops this Friday, January 27th. I word it like that because it was recorded in 1991. Steve tells me why Vai/Gash took so long to release. Johnny “Gash” Sombrotto was a friend of Steve’s, who had a gifted voice. Steve talks about meeting him and the friendship they had, as well as his love of Harley Davidson.

We also talked about his years with David Lee Roth and the last time he saw him. We talked a little about his time and relationship with Frank Zappa.

That’s just for starters, today on Talkin’ Rock!

Happy birthday to the most excellent Larry DiMarzio. You've paved the way for so many guitarists to dial in their tone and find their colors with all your brilliant offerings. And I'm most appreciative for our long relationship and deep friendship.
