Steve Gorman returns to the Talkin’ Rock podcast. He’s back on for a couple reasons. First, he’ll be signing copies of his book and Black Crowes albums at Rock City Music in Livonia this Saturday starting at 2pm. Secondly, I just love talking to him. He’s a great story teller and isn’t afraid to give you his honest opinion.
We talk about a LOT of topics. Lots revolving around his time in the band and meeting fans. He answers many questions about his time in the band and his time behind the kit. He talks about the band at it’s height and at it’s lowest. He relayed a conversation he had with the band’s manager in 1999, where he quit the band…only for a few minutes. What brought him back? He gives me his thoughts on the upcoming BC tour and why it’s happening. Have the Crowes done what it takes to get into the Rock Hall? His take on the death of Neil Peart was truly a unique one.
Stephanie joins me for rock news in place of Al Beck, who is off at a knitting convention. She tells me about a band about to tour 2020 in celebration of their debut album turning 20, as well as another band touring in the celebration of the 15th anniversary of one of their big records. Pearl Jam has a new single out and we can’t put our finger on it as to what it sounds like. The Grammys are in disarray…we discuss.
Hope you guys dig this! Thanks for listening….
