Bruce Springsteen Signs School Absence Note for Young Fan
Bruce Springsteen signs an absence note for a young fan in a new viral social media post.
A fan by the name of Karen Pitcher Scovell shared via Facebook a series of photos and video of The Boss signing a note for a young fan to be excused from school after attending his San Francisco show on Sunday, March 31. The fan in question had a sign that read, “Skipping School. Sign My Note.”
Scovel captioned the post, “No words!!!!! To be in such close proximity to greatness was more than I had ever expected. Bruce knelt down directly in front of me to sign a school excuse for the little girl behind me…” (Video of the moment can be seen here.)
Bruce Springsteen’s Other Recent Viral Moment
The Boss has been making numerous headlines since he returned to touring in recent weeks. One of the notable headline-making moments was when he met Public Enemy hype man Flavor Flav.
As previously reportedAs previously reported, Flav shared a video on Instagram meeting The Boss backstage at his March 22 tour stop in Las Vegas with the E Street Band. Flav was clearly beside himself meeting Springsteen and told Bruce it was an honor meeting him.
Flav also shared a video of himself literally dancing around to “Dancing in the Dark” during Springsteen’s show. He was clearly having a great time.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Flav hung out E Street Band guitarist Stevie Van Zandt at an event the night before the Springsteen show. The rapper asked Van Zandt if a meet-up would be possible, and fortunately for Flav, it was.
Flav told the outlet, “I had never, ever met Bruce Springsteen in my life, but let me tell you … It was one of the greatest, most rewarding experiences in my life. I was starstruck.”
The rapper also told the outlet he gifted Springsteen and Van Zandt with some desk clocks, which is a nod to the clock accessory he wears around his neck.
