Lzzy Hale Fills in for Ann Wilson on Live Disturbed Duet
Lzzy Hale joined Disturbed on stage at Knotfest Australia, where she performed Ann Wilson’s vocals on “Don’t Tell Me.”
Disturbed shared a clip of the performance via YouTube. The band captioned the clip, “Thanks to Lzzy Hale for lending her voice for ‘Don’t Tell Me (ft. Ann Wilson)’ at Knotfest AU!”
“Don’t Tell Me” is featured on Disturbed’s latest album, 2022’s Divisive. The album version, of course, features the powerhouse Heart singer.
Back in September 2022, Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan told WRIF’s Meltdown about working with Wilson, “It was a pretty magical moment to be in the room and to hear [Ann and David Draiman] harmonize together.” He also playfully said, “I can’t give it away, but their voices, it’s like Fergie and Jesus — a little ‘Step Brothers’ quote there.”
Disturbed were so thrilled with Wilson agreeing to record with them that they went out of their way to fly to her for her recording session.
“She’s such a pro, and she’s so damn good,” said Donegan. “She’s a legend. So, it was pretty exciting. And it’s not like she sits there and jumps on people’s albums either, so we take that as a badge of honor to think that there’s not many times where somebody as big a legend as she is that she would jump on any album. She doesn’t have to, and she chose to be on this one. And she loves the track. And it just came together great.”
Lzzy Hale-Disturbed Isn’t Her Only Guest Vocal Opportunity
Hale has made headlines recently after it was announced that she would be a guest vocalist for Skid Row on four of their upcoming tour dates. Those dates are:
- May 17 — Carterville, IL
- May 18 — Riverside, IA
- May 31 — Reno, NV
- June 1 — Sacramento, CA
Full ticket information can be found at SkidRow.com/Tour.
Hale said in her own statement, “I’m stepping in for a few dates as the lead singer of Skid Row! What an honor to call them my friends and a privilege to be sharing the stage with them! Erik, I wish you all the magic on your next adventure. Now…which leather pants to wear?!!”
Of course, Hale has a bit of experience singing Skid Row songs. Halestorm’s ReAniMate: The CoVeRs eP, which was released in 2011, features a cover of “Slave to the Grind.”
