Ship Rocked Day 3: Alter Bridge, The Stowaways and a pelican
I can now officially recommend starting off your morning in Key West. I walked a couple of miles, had some key lime pie and slowly got a pelican to trust me just enough for a flammable photo.
By 2pm it was back on the ship for The Stowaways, a rotating cast of musicians from various bands playing a wide variety of cover songs. For example Clint Lowery of Sevendust and Mark Vollelunga of Nothing More on guitar matched with Miles McPherson of Paramore on drums, John DeServio of BLS on bass and Joey Duenas of Drowning Pool on vocals playing “For Whom The Bell Tolls”. Or my favorite musical moment of the trip so far. the guitar team of Andy Wood and Dario Lorina (BLS) paired with Corey Glover of Living Colour on vocals and backed by John DeServio on bass and Jeff Fabb (In This Moment, BLS) on drums killing “Voodoo Chile (Slight Return).
Later in the afternoon I got to see Ice Nine Kills for the first time, then it was back to broadcaster mode as I reported to the 5th deck to meet up with Sahaj and Ben from Ra for a Chop Shop interview.
I was then able to catch a bit of Dead Sara’s set on the deck of the ship, a handy detail as I also sat down with Siouxsie and Emily for an interview at 9:30pm.
My last stop for the evening was the Alter Bridge show back on the deck as Mark and Myles did not disappoint.
Day #3 was a long one…rest will be required as we have 2 more rock filled days to go.
