WATCH: DLR, Eddie And Alex Van Halen Talk Their First Record Deal, Making ‘VHII’
Van Halen’s sophomore release Van Halen II was released 39 years ago today (March 23), and the conditions under which they recorded that album are simply unheard of nowadays.
In the video below, David Lee Roth sits down with Eddie and Alex Van Halen and reminisces about why VHII was made in three weeks’ time and what little money the band made off of their first two albums due to their shady record deal. Pepper in stories about running into bank managers in sex shops, and needless to say, we’re glad this conversation has been captured on video.
