Riff Fest 2024 could end up being the best one yet. Sure, it has a lot to live up to–but there’s so much to look forward to this year!

Riff Fest 2024 will be happening at Pine Knob on Saturday, September 28th. Tickets are still available and you can learn more about the fun by clicking here. Seriously, you don’t want to see pictures come up on your Instagram feed of your friends there living your best life while you’re at home streaming The Office, again. Don’t live vicariously through your friends–experience it for yourself!

Who’s Playing Riff Fest 2024?

This year, Riff Fest will have 2 stages rocking live music. There will be the Festival Stage and the Main Stage. Headliners for Riff Fest 2024 include Godsmack, Seether, Asking Alexandria, and Wage War. You’ll be able to watch all of them perform on the Main Stage.

Before they play, we’ve got some incredible bands you can watch on the Festival Stage. Those bands include Sleep Theory, Flat Black, Royale Lynn, Fame On Fire, and some local brands from right here in Motown that you’ve heard on Motor City Riffs! Honestly, last year, some of my favorite and most memorable experiences were seen on the Festival Stage. Many of these bands could very well be headlining their own shows and tours. You have a chance to get up-close-and-personal with some great rockers. Seeing Des Rocs so close was an unforgettable experience. It was also cool to see Frame 42 rock the Festival Stage after showcasing their talents on Motor City Riffs. Hopefully one day we’ll see them return to rock the Main Stage. You never know! There aren’t many festivals that allow such an intimate experience, it’s great. You can find the Festival Stage at Pine Knob’s UWM West Parking Lot. It will be easy to find. Follow your ears–not your nose, we hope. Whatever gets you there, though.

Right now, you can enter to become WRIF’s Riff Fest V.I.P.! Why shouldn’t it be you? The V.I.P. winner will see a special acoustic performance from Asking Alexandria before they take the Main Stage. Additionally, you’ll score Pit Tickets to rock Riff Fest the way it’s intended to be rocked. However, you can’t win if you don’t enter! So, enter to become a Riff Fest 2024 V.I.P. by clicking here! Will Riff Fest 2024 end up being the best one ever? There are many reasons to believe it could be! I detail 5 reasons why I expect it to be below!

  • The Lineup

A music festival is nothing without its lineup of artists. Thankfully, Riff Fest 2024 will feature some incredible acts. Not only are they great, but they cover a wide spectrum and variety of rock and roll. You’ve got headliners like Godsmack, Seether, and Asking Alexandria. Then, there are promising up-and-comers who are getting radio play like Sleep Theory. Finally, there are bands that you might not have heard of that you’ll leave saying you’re a fan of. That’s everything you could want! It’s going to be a full day of awesome rock and roll.

  • The Crowd

For me, it’s the crowd that makes Riff Fest what it is. It’s great to see so many people passionate about rock come together for a full day of rock and roll. It’s a very like minded crowd and everyone always seems to be in a good mood. How could you not be? My favorite part of the day is walking around the parking lot at Pine Knob and doing some street bits with tailgaters. It’s always a blast and there are so many great vibes and such good energy in the place. I’m excited for more of that at Riff Fest 2024. Going by what I’ve seen on social media, people are pumped for this lineup and experience. That makes all the difference.

  • The Weather

Sure, there are still a few weeks until the 28th. However, right now, the weather is supposed to be fantastic. Temperatures are expected to fall after a few hot days recently. We should get a beautiful Fall Day. At least, that’s what I’m hoping. It’s poised to be great weather. There’s nothing like that end of September/beginning of October weather. You can layer up or keep it simple–what ever your fashion choice is and whatever you’re comfortable in you can rock it that time of year. It’s much better, in my opinion, than hosting Riff Fest in the heat of July, or something. We’d be melting in the parking lot. September 28th is the perfect day.

  • The Tailgating

Just like sometimes the trailers before the movie are my favorite part, the tailgating before a concert can be the most memorable part of the night. It’s the best time to get your head ready for the night that’s coming. You can play the bands you’re going to hear later and familiarize yourself with all the songs you’re going to be listening to live. You get to have your preferred beverages and hang with friends. Like I mentioned, I love walking around before Riff Fest starts. It’s the best of vibes.

  • The Experience

Riff Fest is more than a concert. It’s more than an event. It’s an experience! I’ve talked to people who have made lifelong friends at Riff Fest. It’s always one of the best concerts of the year, and I don’t think this year will be any different. You never know what might happen. Last year, we surprised people with meet and greet passes to see their favorite artists while walking around before the show. It was strange seeing grown adults cry, but so worth it! Hopefully, there’ll be more of that this year at Riff Fest 2024! Will it be the best one yet? I’m thinking so!
