From Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen to Shaq and Kobe, to peanut butter and Jelly, and pickles and pregnant women (look it up), there is no shortage of great collaborations worldwide. The same is true for our collection of bands for Riff Fest 2024
Last year we saw some epic bands, from Rival Sons and I Prevail to Giovannie, the Hired Guns, and many others! While several of those bands had made it big alone, everybody had a little help along the way. We saw some vast collaborations from those groups!
This year’s Riff Fest crew is no different in that department. Bands like Godsmack, Seether, Asking Alexandria, and Wage War have been involved in some exciting collaborations. They’re not the only ones from this year’s collection of bands, either. Fame on Fire, Flat Black, and Sleep Theory have all collaborated on other projects to beef up their already accomplished resumes.
Collaborations and Samples
It’s so interesting hearing all the variations of music that come together during collaborations. Some songs are really just artists “sampling” other groups’ music with their permission. A good example of this includes Eminem on the song “Sing for the Moment,” where he samples Aerosmith’s “Dream On.” In fact, the chorus is even replaced by Dream On’s chorus.

Great collaborations include that of Linkin Park and Jay-Z on “Numb”, “Say Say Say” by Michael Jackson and Paul Mccartney and my absolute all-time favorite collaboration by far, is Queen and David Bowie teaming up for “Under Pressure”.
