Here we are, at the end of the Detroit Lions' season. We're up against a very strong team on Sunday (Jan. 9), the Green Bay Packers, so it should be quite a show. I grew up a Lions fan and always will be, no matter what, so I'll watch the game and root for my team, even if it gets rough. Hey, we beat the Cardinals, so all things are possible!
Read on for what people are saying about the upcoming game. Go Lions!
The Packers aren't assuming an easy win
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur told Packers.com that even though his team is the No. 1 seed for the NFC playoffs, he's not going soft.
"Right now the mindset is going into this is we're going to play our guys and we're going to approach it like every other game," LaFleur said.
Yes, Aaron Rodgers will be there
LaFleur also told Packers.com that quarterback Aaron Rodgers and other Packers starters are slated to play.
The odds
According to WynnBET at the time I'm writing this, the Green Bay Packers are favored by 3.5 points.
The Packers' Matt LaFleur thinks the Lions are strong
"I know this is not going to be an easy game," he told Packers.com. "You look back at what they've been able to accomplish. They put up a bunch of points (Sunday) and then a couple weeks ago they knocked off Arizona and Arizona has everything to play for. So, we're going to have to play our best ball if we're going to come out with a victory."
LaFleur thinks Green Bay doesn't play well in Detroit
"Detroit is a place we have not – over the course of the last two years – played particularly well, especially to start. We've managed to find ways to win the game, but we're going to have to start much faster really in all three phases."
Will some Packers players be back?
David Bakhtiari and Jaire Alexander have been out for most of the Packers' season due to injury, but both players are reportedly returning soon. Will it be Sunday? We'll see.
Jared Goff
Jared Goff is expected to start Sunday. In the last four games he played, has completed 69.47% of his passes and thrown nine touchdowns with two interceptions.
