Last week I asked you guys about Brands that are no longer around. Some of you misread the question and posted some of your favorite BANDS that are no longer together, but that’s a post for another time.

This post is about brands or products that no longer exist. Here’s a list of what you guys said with some extra ones thrown in.

  • Harmony House

A lot of you said this. From buying your favorite music, to waiting in line to meet your favorite wrestlers when tickets went on sale, to meeting your favorite rock stars at “in store” appearances. I’ll never forget when the original Black Sabbath did a signing at the location in Taylor. I believe it was around 1999. What a day!

  • Zima

Zima was like the newer hard seltzers before there were hard seltzers. Primarily around from 1993-2008, they tried a few rebranding attempts, but nothing ever stuck.

  • Jolt

Was this the first “energy” drink? Not sure, but it was all the rage for a while. I read you might still be able to get it somewhere under different names.

  • Bill Knapps

Bill Knapps was around until 2002. They filed for bankruptcy protection that year, and closed shortly after.

  • Bartles and Jaymes

Just mentioning Bartles and Jaymes makes you quickly think of the two older guys who started the company. Their quirky commercials were a staple in the wine cooler days.

  • Jordache Jeans

I think every girl I went to school with had a pair of these pants.

  • Pontiac

Pontiac made some awesome muscle cars. The GOAT is right at the top of the list. The Trans Am was another great car under the Pontiac brand.

  • Plymouth

Another great muscle car line. I guess i would consider myself a MOPAR guy, so these cars hold a special place for me.

  • RadioShack

I think they might technically be around, but nowhere near what they were back in the day. Check out this commercial for cell phones.

  • Saturn

Another car company that went bust.

  • Circuit City

At its highest point it had 550 stores. In 2008 they started closing store for a variety of reasons. They were around for 59 years.

  • Mercury

Another car brand, an offshoot of Ford, it closed up shop in 2011.

  • Blockbuster

Remember when you had to leave your house, walk all around the store looking for a movie or two, take it home and then hope it didn’t suck? Those were the days!

  • Oldsmobile

Another car company that was prominent, but shut its doors in 2004.

  • Tower Records

As far as I know, there wasn’t one of these in Michigan, but anyone who grew up in the 80s heard of this famous chain. They closed in 2006, but are open online nowadays.

  • Tab

The original 1 calorie drink, it was dropped in 2020.

  • Crystal Pepsi

Who remembers this drink? It debuted during the Superbowl in 1992 and only lasted a couple years.
