Aaron Rodgers’ Future: It Might Not Be What You Think

Here in Detroit, we’re always interested in what Aaron Rodgers is up to, especially this year. I mean, how great did it feel when the Detroit Lions beat Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers not once by twice last season? Yeah, that felt good.

Now, there are lots of rumors about Rodgers heading to the New York Jets. But, hard stop. That might not be the case. Here’s where we’re at with all the Rodgers rumors.

  • Jets Deal 'Essentially Done' - Or Is It?

    There have been big rumors about Aaron Rodgers going to the Jets. In fact, a new report states that the Green Bay Packers and Jets have “worked out what needs to be worked out” as far as trade details, which are “essentially done,” according SNY. The outlet also states that Rodgers really wants to be in New York.

  • Hold Up on Jets Deal

    Rob Demovsky from ESPN says it’s not such a lock. He says that going into NFL free agency, both the Jets and Packers donā€™t know what Aaron Rodgers wants to do this year. “We’re an hour away from the start of the free agent negotiating period, and I’m told neither the Packers nor the Jets know what Aaron Rodgers is going to do.”

  • The Money

    If Rodgersā€™ deal isnā€™t redone, he’s going to have a $31.6 million cap hit, according to Spotrac (via NBC Sports). That’s a lot of money. Both teams need to know what kind of money is going to be free to them in free agency, so a decision has to come soon.
