When it comes to food, we are pretty lucky here in Michigan. We have coney dogs and the rest of the country, for the most part, does not. We have Buddy’s Pizza and the famous Detroit-style pizza, which we all know would beat out any other style of pie–no offense, Chicago, but we do it better.

For as many good grub options as we have around us, we still don’t have everything. In fact, there are some major restaurant chains that we don’t have around that we need to arrive in Michigan as soon as possible…or sooner than that, if possible.

I found five restaurant chains that we don’t have in Michigan, and we need to do something about it. Adding even one of these five restaurants would greatly improve my quality of life, and I think you’ll agree with me. Here are the five chains that Michigan is missing, that we desperately need.

  • In-N-Out

Of course this list starts with In-N-Out…how could it not? Their burgers are guaranteed to be one of the best you’ve ever had…and that’s before you go Animal Style. Animal Style is a must-add choice consisting of Thousand Island dressing with delicious grilled and caramelized onions. It is to die for. You’ll wonder why every burger doesn’t come that way. Not only is it necessary to order your burger Animal Style, but you simply must have your fries that way, too.

They need to bring one to Michigan. Put it anywhere Detroit, Grand Rapids, the Upper Peninsula, it doesn’t matter. I’ll make the drive. Who’s coming with me?

  • Dutch Bros

We started the list with the ever-popular In-N-Out. I’m sure I’m not the first one to tell you about their burgers and Animal Style. It’s played out and popular–for a reason! However, you might not be familiar with Dutch Bros Coffee. It’s very popular out west, especially in states like Arizona, Idaho, and Utah.

Their coffee options are great, but the star of the show is their Rebel Energy Drinks. They add flavored syrups to make the most delicious treat your tastebuds will every experience. You can get them iced or blended, you can’t go wrong. We loved them so much that when we returned to Michigan, we started trying to make them ourselves. We’ve come close, but nothing can compare to the real thing. If you’re an Energy Drink person, you must find one when you’re out west. Better yet, let’s write our representatives to bring one here. I hate waiting in lines, but I will wait in line for a Rebel all day every day. Mmm.

  • Rubio's

There are a plethora of great things about living in Southern California. You get the best weather imaginable, access to the beach, and you get Rubio’s. Rubio’s Coastal Grill has the best fish tacos ever. Truly. They’re even better than the fancy places and stuff like that. Sure, we’re not close to the sea, but we still have seafood restaurants in Michigan. There’s no doubt it would be popular and a profitable success. And that’s just from me alone.

  • Bojangles

I love fried chicken. I love biscuits. Put them together and I am set for life. So, I have to imagine I’d love having a Bojangles here in Michigan. The North Carolina product is insanely popular out there and along the east coast. Stores have gone slightly west into Tennessee and Kentucky, so getting one here in Michigan doesn’t seem impossible. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

  • Waffle House

How do we still not have a Waffle House?? There is simply no better late-night grub than Waffle House. You can enjoy delicious greasy food for a low low price, and on top of that you might even get to witness a fight. I challenge you to name a better way to end a night out. I love getting the hash browns with jalapeños and onions added. It’s crazy good. I know we have our coney islands that will often be open late, but it wouldn’t hurt to have one Waffle House around. Until then, road trips are the only way we’ll get to enjoy everything that Waffle House has to offer.
