Pop Evil On Stage at the Royal Oak Music Theater

Pop Evil’s new album called Skeletons dropped on Friday, as they rolled through Royal Oak on Saturday. The theater was packed as they took to the stage around 9:30.

They might’ve been a couple minutes late because of me. Shelby, their tour manganger, told me to meet him at stage left around 9:15 to intro the band. As I was walking over there, I was stopped by a couple local security guys. I told them I was supposed to meet the TM at this location. They asked for badges and whatnot, but eventually let me stand there. Shelby thought I was just going to come back and realized I wasn’t there around 9:28 or so. He called me to which I told him of my situation. As he was looking over the stage for the final time, he spotted me and waved me up to the guards. As I walked onto the side stage area, singer Leigh Kakaty greeted me with “Oh, there you are…no one knew where you were.” Disaster averted! LOL

I went up on the stage, did my thing, and the band took over as they ripped through a blistering hour and half set of old and new songs.

As I was watching the show, a guy behind me tapped me on the shoulder and said “I love your new Track X Track series.” He told me that he had watched the debut episode with Brent Smith from Shinedown. He said “I thought I knew a lot about the band, but I guess I didn’t know as much as I thought I did.” That comment and conversation meant a lot to me. I do my best to bring the bands to you and to give you content that makes you feel like your more a part of them. Thank You for the kind words. You can watch that episode here. I’m so proud of that series.
