Jack White is no stranger to playing in and around Detroit, but given his success, he normally plays bigger venues. Playing Saint Andrew's Hall on Monday night was a treat for the sold-out crowd.

Jade was there and loved it! "What a show!!! The crowd was electric, and Jack and the band threw a Detroit party! Very early in the set, they played “That’s How I’m Feeling,” the first single off the new album. Jack got the crowd shouting back to him and yelled at one point, “That’s my town right there!” (Watch that video on Jack White’s official Instagram.) Overall, it was just a very cool experience to see him perform at St. Andrews."

Jade explained that there was something slightly different about last night's show. "At most Jack White shows, you must put your phone in a sealed bag so you can’t take pics. This wasn’t the case last night, but the crowd remained engaged and enjoyed the moment. People took quick pictures, but no one kept their phones out for more than a moment. Shout out to the entire Jack White crew, who put on one hell of an evening, and another shout out to the staff at Saint Andrews, who got this together on what seems like pretty short notice. Thank you, Jack White, for showing Detroit your hometown love!"

The Fans Give Their Jack White Review

Aaron Miranov told me on Facebook that it was the best Jack White show he'd seen. "It was awesome! Jack played a bit of everything, delving back to the White Stripes s/t record to many tracks from the new "No Name,"... Which I think is the best solo project to date by JW." He praised the show, "I've seen JW so many times... Yesterday was probably my favorite show."

According to listener Alex Baylerian, people outside couldn't get in, taking in the music in the parking lot. He posted on Reddit, “Big shout out to the 'Jack White Rejects'. I didn’t get in tonight, but it somehow became one of my all-time favorite concert experiences. Big shout out to the core of us that hung out throughout the night. You guys are SO COOL, and I’m happy I met you!"

Even though he didn't get in, he enjoyed the show nonetheless. "I got to hear a lot of the show while drinking beer in the parking lot out back and even got to meet Jack for a hot second. I got a handshake and told him I didn’t make it in, lol. It was a really great night." That's awesome!

Scott Dunsmore wraps up with his thoughts: "The concert was AMAZING!!!!! Jack's energy was through the roof, and the crowd's energy was just as high. He played a mix of Jack White, The White Stripes, and The Raconteurs. He is a musical genius."

There's no doubt about that, Scott. Here's last night's setlist.

Jack White could've played anywhere in Detroit, but choose Saint Andrew's Hall. Really cool of him to play some of these small places for diehard fans.
