A Look Back – Where My Harley Took Me Throughout The Summer Of 2023

Hell Michigan

I make several trips to Hell each summer. I love it for many reasons, including this bar and the great riding out that way.

Over the summer I traveled all over southeast Michigan and beyond on my Harley Davidson. As anyone who knows me knows, I love to ride that thing. Well, sadly it's been tucked away for the year, only to have me dreaming of unwrapping it again in the spring.

In the meantime, a little trip down memory lane of some of the places my two wheels took me. I visited bars and VFW posts, I even rode through Canada, and of course to my Full Throttle Thursdays bike nights at Stingers in Wixom.

I rode to some places I'd never been to before. The Beach Bar in Brooklyn sticks out to me. Wow! What a ride through the backroads that was. I loved every mile. I was questioned about standing next to my Harley at the border for some unknown reason. I still can't figure that one out.

As always, I'm on a constant hunt for places to ride to. If you have any ideas for my ventures in 2024, feel free to email me at meltdown@wrif.com

In the meantime, check out some pictures of my rides, and feel free to hit me up on charity rides or anything like that next year. I'm always up for a "putt".

This picture was taken as I was riding by myself just outside of Manchester. It was about 7:30pm and there wasn't a car in sight, so I stopped and snapped a picture.

Our friends from Saving Abel playing in Melvindale over the summer, so I took a ride down there to see them.

hd4.jpgMeltdown

I stopped by the VFW in Troy for a charity event. Not my favorite ride, but I met some great people.

hd5.jpgMeltdown

I'd never been to the Oar Creek bar in the Pinkney area, so I made it there last summer.

hd6.jpgMeltdown

I stopped by here to see an acoustic band. Apparently it was full and I was asked to leave...LOL (Long story haha)

hd7.jpgMeltdown

Friends of mine have a place in Sand Lake, out by Brooklyn, so you'll see me out there throughout the summer.

hd8.jpgMeltdown

This was a fun ride. The Bridgewater Bank Tavern is one I highly suggest. I'll be back next year for sure.

hd16.jpgMeltdown

It's always a fun bike night at Full Throttle Thursdays at Stingers.

hd10.jpgMeltdown

The famous Stingers bike wash Thursdays at the Wixom bar.

...more from the bike wash at Stingers.

You never know who you're going to see. I happened upon Karen Newman on a stop at the South Lyon Hotel.

hd18.jpgMeltdown

Just over the border in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada. The Peace Bridge is in the distance.

I put a lot of miles with these hooligans this last summer. This was at Label in downtown Brighton.

hd19.jpgMeltdown

Of course, my Harley took me to many concerts at Pine Knob in the summer of 2024.

I think I only made it up to the Machine Shop once on the Harley, but it's always a good time!

Bakers in Milford on Sundays is always a blast!

hd3.jpgMeltdown

It's a must to get down to The Clamdigger in Monroe. Their potato pizza is insane!

I really liked the Beach Bar in Brooklyn. They had a killer cover band playing the day I was there.

Always fun to ride down to the IWR events in Monroe. Also a blast to hang with Steve from the Greatest Wrestling Collection. Love that guy!

This church is in the middle of nowhere. I stopped and snapped a picture of the scooter.

Another out-of-the-way place just past 127 on 12 in Brooklyn.

hd10-1.jpgMeltdown

I got to know the Foundation 14 guys and girls a lot better this past summer. Great group!

My favorite view....an open road and zero cars! This was taken somewhere on route 3 in Canada.
