Tommy Shaw is my guest today on Radio Chatter. Styx has a new album out called the “The Mission” and it’s pretty damn good. It’s a concept album about a mission to Mars. It’s 42 minutes of a roller coaster ride through space.
We started out the conversation by talking about an indecent that both of us witnessed in 1992 from the band Faith No More. You have to hear that to believe it. Of course we talk at length about the new album and how it came about, some of the writing process, the meaning of the concept and lots more. He told me about his favorite concept albums, Damn Yankees and the last time he’s talked to Ted Nugent and Jack Blades, and more.
