The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is a yearly tradion around the country, as is talking to some of the musicians that make it possible. Today, I have guitarist Joel Hoekstra and drummer Jeff Plate on the pod.
Joel is up first to discuss how he manages his time between the three big projects he’s involved in. He describes the process of how both versions of TSO practice, which is very interesting. Joel told me about what’s going on with Whitesnake and the album they put out earlier this year. Has he introduced his mother to Cher? Ha! He tells me what’s going on for him and all his projects in 2020, and it’s some cool stuff. Also, he tells me about a rocker that would go check out his band when he was a teenager, outside of Chicago.
Jeff Plate is an original member of TSO and a very solid drummer. He tells me what he’s done this year, recording at home, his love of KISS as a kid and his plans for 2020. We talk about a couple legendary drummers and more.
Al Beck brings the Rock News with stories about the loss of Eddie Money, the Green Day tour, Ozzy’s health, Ghost and more.
Thanks for listening! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. For feedback – 248-586-2988
