Spring Spruce Up
Earth Day is tomorrow, April 22nd and what better way to give back to Mother Earth than give back a little. Earth Day was started back in 1970. Senator Gaylord Nelson witnessed the devastating effects of a massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, CA. He called for the United States to act and take a stand for the environment. Many colleges and universities started protests to promote this same idea. With so much interest generated to help give back to the earth and save the environment, laws and programs were created. Such as the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species acts. Here are some of the local activities (Listed by oaklandcountymoms.com) you and your family can participate in to give back. Every little bit can help make the world a little greener and healthier.
