Idiot Criminal Of The Day: Washington Man Finds His Stolen Bike For Sale Online And Leads To Lots Of Problems

A Washington man found his stolen bike on an online marketplace and it led to a lot of problems for the would-be seller. Law enforcement ended up finding much more than just the bike.

It would be a relieving and unexpected feeling finding your stolen bike on an online marketplace. You probably figured it was gone forever and someone would be riding it around themselves--not trying to sell it online. However, like we often say on Dave & Chuck The Freak--criminals often do a lot to get themselves caught when they normally wouldn't. If this seller didn't post the bike online they probably would be a free man right now. Instead, they're in a lot of trouble with the law. That makes this seller the Idiot Criminal Of The Day on Dave & Chuck The Freak.

According to the City of Kirkland, the Washington man alerted authorities about his bike and they ended up obtaining a search warrant for the seller's apartment. There, records show they found what's believed to be fentanyl, meth, a pile of cash, a rifle, and a pistol. A 2nd person at the scene was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for vehicle theft.

Crazy that it all could have been avoided if it weren't for the Idiot Criminal Of The Day! Read more from the City of Kirkland here.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
