If you're active on social media, you've probably noticed AI-generated porch pirate videos are going viral. A lot of people are falling for these!

It seems like porch pirates have never been more common than they are right now. Then, you add in the holiday season with more packages arriving at doorsteps and you're likely to get an increase in these porch pirates--and we certainly are. However, not all of them are real. Many are actually AI-generated and they have the internet falling for it left and right. Even pro golfer Phil Mickelson fell for it on social media. I will admit that even when they're fake, it's still kind of nice to have them get what's coming to them. See a video report shared by WOAI on YouTube below.

These videos are all over social media right now and they're pretty easy to spot if you've seen AI-created content before. It's not fooling everyone!

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
