A Florida man is going viral online after reportedly begging officers to bum him a cigarette after his arrest. I've never seen that happen before!

Getting arrested can be stressful, so it makes sense why you might want a cigarette. However, it's not the best time and it's certainly not appropriate. Especially after you just led officers on a police chase. They probably aren't very eager to help you out nor would they want to bum you a cig if they had them. Can't blame him for trying!

The incident happened in Volusia, Florida. According to FOX 13 News, deputies with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office pursued a suspected carjacker in the Daytona Beach Shores area. That suspect was later identified as Grant Hagood-James. FOX 13 News reports that the victim says Hagood-James begged him for a ride and once in the vehicle he pulled a gun and forced the driver out of the car.

After a chase, he was later found in the water off of a Port Orange restaurant. Once apprehended, he reportedly asked the officers for a smoke and even said please. However, the deputies reportedly just laughed. Ouch. You can see his mugshot provided by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office below.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
