A Dairy Queen Blizzard is to thank for helping end an armed standoff in Washington state. I always knew they could do only good.

There have been many occasions where I've been thankful for a Dairy Queen Blizzard. Usually, it's because I was craving the sweet delicious treat. However, you could also be thankful for the Dairy Queen Blizzard because it can end an armed standoff. That's what happened in Pullman, Washington! The Smoking Gun reports that 40-year-old Elijah Reagan set fire to his apartment after using a mortar to shoot a firework into the ceiling resulting in an evacuation. An armed standoff followed and he demanded a Dairy Queen Blizzard as a condition to surrender. That led to the end of the standoff! How wild is that? It's like what would happen if Chuck was the suspect!

The Smoking Gun reports that Reagan was smoking methamphetamine and led police on a high-speed chase before his car was disabled by spike strips. He reportedly had a shotgun, bottle rockets, fire logs, and lighter fluid in his car. That's when the armed standoff started.

Later, a tactical robot would deliver him a Blizzard and hamburger and the four hour standoff was over. He was booked on felony arson and eluding charges. It's unknown what flavor the Blizzard was but you can't go wrong either way.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
