Praise continues for Miller's Bar in Dearborn since Jimmy Fallon complimented their burgers. The tiny cash-only spot, serving since 1941, was a hit with the late night star.
During his Detroit visit for a Tonight Show special, Fallon stopped in and took to social media. His verdict? One of the best burgers he'd tried. He made the unplanned visit while spending time at Ford Field with Keegan Michael Key.
Each burger starts with a thick seven-ounce patty. Melted cheese drips over the sides, while crisp pickles and raw onions add crunch. They wrap each one in wax paper, keeping an old tradition alive. At the end of the meal, customers walk up to the counter and tell the staff what they ate.
Reader's Digest just named it Michigan's top burger spot. "Miller's Bar has been grilling up some of the best burgers in Michigan since 1941," the magazine wrote in their nationwide burger survey.
The title came after months of research. Food writers sampled burgers across the country. Online reviews and local tips pointed them toward the winners in each state.
Not much has changed here since opening day. The menu stays basic. The cooking methods remain the same. No fancy additions or trendy toppings have made their way onto these classic burgers.
Fresh-cut fries and golden onion rings round out the sides. Each morning, staff members shape the patties by hand. They sizzle on the same well-seasoned grill that's turned out burgers for generations.
