At their September 11 meeting, Wayne County officials passed measures for off-road vehicles on public streets. The rules match state guidelines, requiring inspections, proper licensing, and insurance.
Before hitting the road, owners must bring their ATVs and UTVs to the Sheriff's office for a safety check. Licensed drivers must control these machines. Breaking these laws brings the same penalties as regular traffic violations, including potential impacts on drivers licenses.
During the Fiscal Court session, with the County Judge and all members present, talks shifted to a costly problem. The monthly bill hits $1,500 just to clean up messes around recycling spots.
To fix this waste, the court backed the judge's plan to study new spots for the bins. Moving them might slash cleanup costs. The switch could make the whole system run smoother.
