Everyone has their thing. Some people claim that a spot has the best food and not everyone agrees. Today, we find out that people have gone to great lengths to get something they really love. No one went as far as kidnapping, like the man in our story, but hours and hours of driving to get a meal is pretty extreme.
According to Daily Voice, "A 28-year-old Connecticut man is behind bars after police say he forced his alleged kidnapping victim to stop at a McDonald's for food — a decision that ultimately led to his arrest. Alexander Mathews, of Milford, is charged with second-degree kidnapping, second-degree threatening, and second-degree breach of peace following his arrest on June 2, according to Milford police. Officers were called to the McDonald’s on Boston Post Road around 1 p.m. after receiving reports of a possible kidnapping, authorities said. But by the time officers arrived, Mathews had fled ran away. Police launched a search and found Mathews near Exit 39 on Interstate 95, where he was still carrying the knife allegedly used in the abduction, investigators said."
We started making jokes about kidnapping each other to get our favorite treats. Chuck kidnaps Dave to get Dairy Queen. Jason kidnaps Dave and Chuck so they can get the butterscotch dip they've been talking about lately. But then, we started to hear from people about how far they have traveled to get something they love.
The craziest was a text from someone who said they drive from metro Detroit to West Virginia to get a fish sandwich. That's like almost a 5 hour drive. Then, a woman who has tried it before called to give her review and said it was definitely not worth it.
To each, their own. Enjoy whatever you want. Drive however far you want to get it! It's all jokes!
