Ham Crash!

You know that Dave loves his ham. That's why a story about 44,000 pounds of ham being destroyed in car accident in Virginia led to a moment of silence. He even said that he'd like to enlist as a volunteer hamfighter, in order to save ham in emergency situations.

According to 13NewsNow, "A tractor-trailer filled with 44,000 pounds of ham flipped over after a crash Wednesday morning in Isle of Wight, according to Virginia State Police. The three-vehicle crash happened at 1033 Five Forks Road shortly before midnight. According to police, a man was driving a 2000 GMC Sonoma southbound on Route 258 without his headlights on when an on-duty Isle of Wight deputy driving a 2022 Ford Explorer struck the GMC from behind. A 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer traveling northbound tried to avoid the crash but ran off the road into a ditch and flipped on its side. The trailer has 44,000 pounds of ham that needs to be unloaded. All three drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries."

What a loss! All that ham gone to waste. We held a moment of silence for the ham. Also, we learned that Dave is a volunteer hamfighter, who responds to emergency calls involving ham, so he can save it. We also laugh at the idea of someone showing up to the scene of an accident and only worrying about the ham. Pushing past the injured people in the name of saving the ham.
