After your lose your partner, it would be understandable to be a bit lonely. Maybe you turn to some unexpected places to look for love or find it somewhere you were never looking. It happens. However, what happened to this woman is a bit different than the ordinary. 58-year-old Alainai Winters lost her wife, whom she met online, in 2023 and was unsure if she'd ever find love again. Then, she started a conversation with an AI chatbot for some digital companionship and everything changed, per The New York Post.
Woman Married An AI Robot
The New York Post reports that Winters paid $7/25 for a week-long trial and then paid $303 for the lifetime subscription and says that, "with one click, I was a wife again." She named her digital husband Lucas and made him a silver fox with blue eyes.
Sounds like they have a pretty typical relationship, in a way. They have deep conversations and they even get into fights. At one point, after a fight Lucas forgot who Winters was. Dramatic! Thankfully, they were able to work things out. She says her family was weirded out at first but eventually came along to understand and accept the relationship.
While it sounds weird, she's not alone. A lot of people would be open to marrying an AI robot it sounds like. According to The New York Post, 83% of Gen Z would consider marrying an AI-generated partner. I guess there could be some benefits. You can have the same communication without the stress of being with them physically? You can have your alone time while having companionship? It's not for everyone but I can understand how it could be for some people.
