Teacher Covers Herself In Peanut Butter And Jelly For Creative Writing Lesson

A teacher is going viral on TikTok for covering herself in peanut butter and jelly. It was all for a lesson in *checks notes* creative writing? While it might not…

CHICAGO, IL – OCTOBER 12: Jars of peanut butter are offered for sale at Armitage Produce on October 12, 2011 in Chicago, Illinois. This summer’s hot, dry weather devastated the Runner peanut crop, the variety mostly used in making peanut butter, causing prices of raw peanuts to soar. The resulting increase in peanut prices is expected to raise the price consumers pay for peanut butter by more that 25 percent on most major brands. (Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images)

A teacher is going viral on TikTok for covering herself in peanut butter and jelly. It was all for a lesson in *checks notes* creative writing?

While it might not sound like it makes sense at first, there was a lesson behind the madness. Descriptive writing is important, which she highlights in the video in the wrong ways you can make a simple peanut butter and jelly sandwich if you aren't descriptive enough. In Language Arts class, I was also taught the importance of descriptive writing but none of my teachers ever covered themselves in peanut butter and jelly to get the point across! Whatever works to hold kids' attention, I suppose. Check out the viral video shared on TikTok by @kay_sloan below.

Why Did A Teacher Cover Herself In Peanut Butter And Jelly?

Honestly, I respect it! Those kids aren't going to forget that. I think it's a good way to get the point across. They'll remember the importance of being descriptive in their writing moving forward, don't you think?

The video has more than 54.7M views on TikTok since being shared not even a month ago. It has 7M likes and more than 42k comments to go along with it. Most of the comments are talking about how stressed out the kids sound seeing it and some mention how the parents must have felt when their kid came home from school and told them about their day. Hilarious.

According to PEOPLE, the teacher is 28-year-old Kayleigh Sloan from Idaho. This video is blowing up and now her lesson is going national! Sounds like she started it a couple years ago and it has become a part of her lesson every year. She says, "The point of the lesson is to add detail and be descriptive in writing. Words are so important and can easily change the meaning of what we're saying. That's why I was so literal with the instructions," via PEOPLE.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
