14 News reports that Warrick County Dispatch received a call about a reckless driver and a Chandler police officer tried to stop the car but the driver continued on. Eventually, the vehicle crashed into a ditch and stopped and Devillez got out in a motorcycle helmet and appeared to be waving a sword in the air, per 14 News. That led to an officer reportedly having to shoot her at least one time.
14 News says she was able to drive away in the officer's patrol car and tried getting away going faster than 120 miles per hour. She later crashed into an open field and tried running away but was tased and taken into custody. 14 News says it was apparent that the suspect had been shot as she was bleeding heavily from several gunshot wounds to the chest. She was taken to the hospital to treat her injuries and remains there currently.
She's no stranger to run-ins with the law. 14 News reports that she's involved in an ongoing attempted murder case and was charged with 7 felonies back in November. She's expected in court on May 9th.
