When you save up for your dream car, you expect it to be around for a long time once you finally get your hands on it. The last thing you would want is for it to go up in flames after your first drive inside of it. Unfortunately, that's what happened to one Japanese man who saved up for 10 years for his dream car, a new Ferrari 458 Spider, and saw it go up in flames within an hour of driving it for the first time. Can you imagine?

Man's Ferrari Goes Up In Flames After First Drive

According to Oddity Central, the man who saved up for a Ferrari is known as Honkon and he's a young music producer. The 33-year-old took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the story of how he saved up for a Ferrari and then watched it catch fire while driving on the Shuto Expressway in Tokyo. Sounds like he was taking it out for the inaugural test drive when it started smoking so he pulled over and it caught fire. So, he spent 20 minutes watching his dream car burn.

An investigation into the car fire is now underway. The reason for the fire remains unknown right now and there was no sign of collision. The car reportedly cost him around $306,000 so you can imagine that would be heartbreaking watching it go up in flames.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
