What’s up, Detroit Rock City? It’s Jade from 101 WRIF, and I’m here with your New Music Breakdown! We’ve got a massive week in rock, with Ghost officially unveiling a new frontman, Corey Taylor and KITTIE dropping killer covers, and Nandi Bushell stepping into the spotlight with her new band. Let’s break it all down.
Ghost Unleashes ‘Papa V Perpetua’ and New Album ‘Skeletá’
Ghost is back, and they’re bringing the heat! The band has officially introduced their latest frontman, Papa V Perpetua, alongside a brand-new track, Satanized. If you haven’t cranked it up yet, head over to WRIF.com and check it out.
Their upcoming album, Skeletá, is set to drop on April 25th, and you know it will be packed with anthems that will melt your face off. Want more behind-the-scenes details? WRIF’s Meltdown caught up with Tobias Forge on his Talkin’ Rock podcast. Listen in for all the juicy details.
Oh, and don’t forget—Ghost will be lighting up Little Caesars Arena on July 24th. You do not want to miss that show.
Corey Taylor, KITTIE, and More Cover Rock Legends
First, Corey Taylor and Bad Omens took on Dust in the Wind. Now, another epic cover has dropped—this time for Metallica’s The Unforgiven. The track features a powerhouse lineup: KITTIE, DIAMANTE, and THE PRETTY WILD.
This cover is part of the upcoming Queen of the Ring soundtrack, which tells the story of wrestling legend Mildred Burke. The full soundtrack lands March 7th, so if you’re a fan of hard-hitting rock and wrestling history, this one’s for you.
Nandi Bushell’s New Band Drops First Original Track
At just 14 years old, Nandi Bushell has already jammed with rock legends like the Foo Fighters. Now, she’s stepping up with her new band, Blue Reflection. Their debut original song, The Only One, is officially out, and it’s a must-listen. Nandi takes on both drums and vocals, proving once again that she’s a force to be reckoned with.
Jeff Bridges Digs into the Vault for ‘Slow Magic 1977-1978’
Yes, that Jeff Bridges. You know him as The Dude, but before all that, he was recording music. A lost tape from July 1978 just resurfaced, leading to a brand-new album: Slow Magic 1977-1978.
The first single, Obnoxious, is out now, and the full album drops April 12th. Plus, if you’re a vinyl junkie, keep an eye out for a transparent blue vinyl edition hitting shelves just in time for Record Store Day.
