It's on! Another battle on the ice for the Detroit Red Wings alumni. This time, it's another original six team they'll be playing. The Wings take on the Canadians on March 15th at Big Boy Arena in Fraser.

Detroit Red Wing Drew Miller Speaks With Meltdown

Above is a conversation I had with former NHLer Drew Miller. We discussed his time in the big leagues, playing the penalty kill against power players like Alex Ovechkin, as well as the long lineage of Millers who have played in the NHL.

Drew works for KIG Korotkin Insurance Group and says he loves it.

The Detroit Red Wings Vs. The Montreal Canadians

It will be a lot of fun if it's anything like the last two contests! The Wings have already played the Boston Bruins and the New Rangers in this series.

Look for players such as Drew, Brad May, Brain Skrudland, Mathieu Dandenault, Gilbert Dionne, Johnny O., Reed Larson, Dino Ciccarelli, Red Berenson, and many more to be in the lineup.

Once again, proceeds go to the GH Pastor Foundation. They help out the Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana, Judson Center in Detroit - a Down syndrome and autism facility, the Special Olympics, Kim Muir's Can't Skate Can't Play, and youth sled hockey.

The event starts at noon with some great sled hockey games. The Wings/Canadians game starts at 2 pm.

Meltdown started on the mighty WRIF on the evening of Halloween, 1995. Technically, his first on-air shift was the morning of November 1st. Moving to the Motor City from Buffalo, N.Y., he has built a career and family. Over his almost three-decade stint at RIFF, he's had the privilege to work with some of the biggest personalities in Detroit radio history. He boasts of being just the second-afternoon drive jock in the station's illustrious 53-year history. Along with his love for rock music and attending concerts, he's also an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast and hockey player. He plays year-round and manages to squeeze in a few charity games throughout the year. Meltdown writes about the Detroit Red Wings, rock music, and Detroit concert venues.
